Description
TL;DR: The VooPoo VMate i2 is a refillable, draw-activated pod kit with a 1500mAh battery, a 2ml top-fill pod and an airflow slider that goes from a tight MTL draw to a looser RDL one. Best for vapers who want long battery life with no buttons or menus. Not ideal for anyone who wants to set their own wattage or switch the light bar off.
The VooPoo VMate i2 Pod Kit is the bigger-battery follow-up to the 900mAh VooPoo VMate: same pod family, 67% more battery, and up to 30W of power set automatically by the pod fitted. This is the VooPoo VMate i2, not the VooPoo VMate Infinity Edition or the VooPoo VMate Pro, although all three take the same pod family. The UK version holds 2ml; the 3ml pod shown on some overseas listings is not sold here.

Key Specs Customers Check
Battery: 1500mAh built-in. mAh is battery size. Planet of the Vapes testing got around two days per charge on the 0.7Ω pod.
Power: up to 30W, automatic. The chip reads the pod and sets the wattage, so there is nothing to adjust.
Pod capacity: 2ml (UK TPD limit). A silicone plug on the top side means refilling without taking the pod out.
Supplied pod: 0.7Ω mesh. Ω (ohm) is coil resistance. VooPoo rates this pod for MTL at 15 to 25W.
Airflow: stepless slider. Slide it towards closed for a tighter pull, or open for more vapour.
Charging: USB-C, 5V/1A. VooPoo publishes no charge time. Planet of the Vapes measured about 1 hour 35 minutes.
Indicator: RGB light bar. The bar shows battery level. It cannot be switched off.
Size and weight: 113.7 x 28.5 x 15mm, 55.5g. The body is aluminium alloy.
MTL or RDL Pod Kit: Pick Your Inhale
MTL (mouth to lung) is a tight, cigarette-like draw. RDL (restricted direct to lung) is a looser, airier draw with more vapour. The pod sets the style and the slider fine-tunes it.
0.7Ω Top Fill pod (in the box): MTL, 15 to 25W. Start with the slider half closed.
1.0Ω Top Fill pod: tighter MTL, 12 to 18W.
1.2Ω VooPoo VMate V2 pod: the tightest, lowest-power MTL option.
0.4Ω Top Fill pod: RDL, 18 to 30W. Open the slider fully.
Key Features
Top fill: the pod stays in the device while it is refilled.
Light bar gauge: the lit strip shortens as the battery drops. Reviewers on Planet of the Vapes found it bright and hard to read precisely.
Six protections: 5-second puff cut-off, over-temperature, overcharge, over-current, low battery and short-circuit.
Built-in coil: each pod has its coil fitted, so a worn coil means a new pod, with no parts to swap.
VooPoo VMate Pods and E-Liquid Pairing
Every pod in this range wicks best with 50/50 PG/VG e-liquid. For the 0.7Ω, 1.0Ω and 1.2Ω MTL pods, use 10ml nic salts (nicotine that feels smoother at higher strengths) or 50/50 freebase (standard nicotine with a firmer throat hit). As a guide, 20mg suits heavier smokers and 10mg suits lighter ones. The 0.4Ω RDL pod makes more vapour per puff, so most vapers drop to a lower strength with it. Very sweet e-liquids clog the coil faster.
Battery Life, Pod Life and Running Cost
Battery: about two days between charges in Planet of the Vapes testing on the 0.7Ω pod. Heavy use or the 0.4Ω pod shortens that.
Pod life: VooPoo rates the coil for up to 90ml of e-liquid. UK retailer reviews report one to two weeks per pod, and only days with very sweet e-liquid.
Running cost: the pod is the only part to rebuy. A twin pack of VooPoo VMate replacement pods covers roughly two to four weeks, plus e-liquid. That works out cheaper per ml than prefilled pods.
Compatibility and Replacement Pods
Fits: VooPoo VMate Top Fill pods (0.4Ω, 0.7Ω, 1.0Ω) and VooPoo VMate V2 pods (0.7Ω, 1.2Ω).
Know the difference: VooPoo VMate V2 pods fill from the side, so the pod comes out to refill. Top Fill pods do not.
Does not fit: VooPoo Argus pods and VooPoo PnP pods are different shapes.
The full range sits in VooPoo pods.
How to Set Up the VooPoo VMate i2
Charge the device with the supplied USB-C cable until the light bar is fully lit.
Lift the silicone plug on the top side of the pod and fill to just below the top. The pod can stay in the device.
Press the plug firmly shut.
Wait 5 to 10 minutes so the e-liquid soaks into the coil.
Set the airflow slider: towards closed for MTL, open for RDL.
Inhale gently. The device fires and sets the power itself.
How to Make It Last Longer
Refill early: top up before the pod runs dry, as a dry coil burns.
Keep the pod bay dry: remove the pod weekly and wipe away condensation. Owners on Reddit report that moisture near the draw sensor can stop the device firing.
Do not store it full for days: a filled pod left unused can seep.
Best Colours
The kit comes in seven colours. Matte Black and Space Grey are the plain, low-key picks for work or pocket carry. Forest Green and Dawn Blue are muted. Neon, Rosy and Ruby Red are the bright finishes, easy to spot in a bag. The light bar glows on every colour, so no finish makes it fully discreet.
Value Compared
Versus the original VooPoo VMate Pod Kit, the VooPoo VMate i2 gives 1500mAh of battery in place of 900mAh and takes the same pods. See the rest of the VooPoo vape range, or compare other vape pod kits.
